Ruiz pleaded guilty to charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse. Statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, and interfering with the custody of a child.
He was sentenced to 9 to 18 years in prison for molesting one girl. Plus another 6-12 years after pleading guilty to having sex with another teenage student.
2. Michael Linsinbigler
The former band director at Staley High School in Kansas City. Missouri pleaded guilty to statutory rape. After being accused of having sex with a 16-year-old girl he met while teaching at the school. His victim was one of his students and she soon became pregnant. Prosecutors said that there may have been other victims.
Linsinbigler was sentenced to five years in prison for statutory rape and 33 months for statutory sodomy. It was suspended, making his total sentence 5 years of incarceration. He will have registered as a sex offender once he is released from prison.
3. Clint Lawson – The former physical education teacher at Vero Beach High School in Florida was arrested. And charged with sexual assault on a minor after accusations arose. He had been having sex with a 14-year-old student. Lawson turned himself over to authorities. At which point he faced charges for lewd or lascivious battery, as well as molestation.
Before working at Vero High school. Lawson was a coach at John Carroll High School and it’s believed that Lawson may have molested other children. During his tenure as a teacher and coach.
4. James Hooker
A 41-year-old high school science teacher in California. Hooker was arrested after he left his wife and children for one of his 16-year-old. Students with whom he started an affair. While on the surface it looked like just another “Teacher-Student Affair” story. Hooker’s behavior after his tryst was revealed put him in a league of his own.
After leaving school mid-year and moving in with his new teenage lover. He went on to quit his job at her request so the two could start a catering business together.
Hooker went on to make several TV appearances where he talked about how crazy in love is. He was with his new teenage paramour who he affectionately referred to as his “Puppy”. He even competed on the show “The Weakest Link” which ended up being an embarrassing debacle for him.
5. Gene Daniels – A former high school teacher and basketball coach in New Jersey. Daniels was charged with engaging in sexual acts with three of his students over five years. He was found guilty on charges that included conspiracy to commit. Aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
